NEW - BRUTAL BLOOM

The third iteration of Piet Blom's famous experimental "kubuswoningen" (cube houses), this complex, known as the Blaakse Bos, sits in Rotterdam, next to the Blaaktoren, affectionately known as "Het Potlood" (The Pencil) by the same architect. They were constructed between 1982 and 1984. The complex is a classic example of Structuralism, a Dutch exponent of Brutalism.
