NEW - CUBICUS

Cubicus is what remains of the TWRC building at the University Twente. UT was the third technical school to be founded in Holland and became a university in 1986, along with its counterparts in Eindhoven and Delft. The building was built between 1968 and 1973 to a design by John Mol and Leo Heijdenrijk. Personally I though it an example of Structuralism, but as it turns out, it is in fact a Brutalist building. On 20 November 2002 a major fire caused by arson destroyed half the building, the remainder was renovated and reopened as Cubicus.
